Colman Domingo, Ayo Edebiri, « La couleur pourpre » parmi les nominés aux NAACP Image Awards 2024

Parmi les autres nominés de la cérémonie du 16 mars figurent « American Fiction », « Origin », Victoria Monét et Usher.

Les nominations pour la 55e édition des NAACP Image Awards ont été dévoilées jeudi par l’organisation. Les films « American Fiction », « Origin », « Rustin », « The Color Purple » et « They Cloned Tyrone » sont nommés dans la catégorie principale, celle du meilleur film.

« La couleur pourpre a reçu le plus grand nombre de nominations dans les catégories de films, soit 16 au total, dont six dans les catégories d’acteurs, notamment Fantasia Barrino pour l’actrice exceptionnelle, Danielle Brooks, Halle Bailey et Taraji P. Henson pour le second rôle féminin et Colman Domingo et Corey Hawkins pour le second rôle masculin.

Colman Domingo a également été nommé dans la catégorie « Meilleur acteur » pour « Rustin », l’une des huit nominations du film. Le film « They Cloned Tyrone » a été nommé pour neuf Image Awards et « American Fiction » pour sept.

Barrino, Domingo et Bailey ont également été nommés dans la catégorie « Entertainer of the Year » (artiste de l’année), aux côtés de Keke Palmer et Usher. La lauréate de l’année dernière dans cette catégorie était Angela Bassett.

Dans les catégories télévision, « Abbott Elementary » est en tête avec 9 nominations. Ayo Edebiri, lauréate d’un Emmy, a obtenu deux nominations pour ses performances dans « Abbott Elementary » et « The Bear ».

Victoria Monét et Usher ont reçu le plus grand nombre de nominations dans les catégories d’enregistrement musical. Monét en a obtenu six et Usher cinq.

« Nous sommes ravis de célébrer les réalisations des candidats de cette année, dont les contributions exceptionnelles dans les domaines du cinéma, de la télévision et de la diffusion en continu, de la musique, de la littérature, des podcasts et autres nous ont tous inspirés », a déclaré Derrick Johnson, président et directeur général de la NAACP. « Les NAACP Image Awards rendent hommage à leur créativité, à leur talent et à leur dévouement à la narration authentique et témoignent de la richesse et de la diversité de notre communauté ».

« Alors que nous réfléchissons au riche héritage de la NAACP, nous sommes fiers d’honorer la brillance artistique des nominés de cette année. Nous sommes ravis de mettre en lumière et de célébrer le talent extraordinaire de notre communauté », a déclaré Scott Mills, président et directeur général de BET Media Group.

Les lauréats seront révélés lors de la cérémonie de remise des prix en direct, diffusée le samedi 16 mars 2024 à 20 h 00 ET / 17 h 00 PT sur BET et CBS.

Le vote pour les prix est désormais ouvert sur le site web des Image Awards. Le public peut voter pour déterminer les gagnants dans certaines catégories jusqu’au 24 février à 21h00. Les gagnants seront révélés lors de l’émission.

La NAACP récompensera également les lauréats des catégories non télévisées des Image Awards du 11 au 14 mars, qui seront diffusés sur le site des Image Awards.
