Les Gardiens de la Galaxie et Maestro en tête des nominations à la Guilde des artistes maquilleurs et coiffeurs

« Les Gardiens de la Galaxie Vol. 3 » et « Maestro » sont en tête des nominations pour les 2024 Make-Up Artists & ; Hair Stylists Guild Awards, a annoncé mardi matin la section locale 706 de l’IATSE.
Le film « Guardians » a reçu quatre nominations, dans les catégories maquillage contemporain, maquillage d’époque et/ou de personnage, effets spéciaux de maquillage et coiffure d’époque et/ou de personnage. « Maestro » a reçu trois nominations, dans les catégories maquillage d’époque et/ou de personnage, coiffure et effets de maquillage.
Les autres films ayant reçu plusieurs nominations sont « Candy Cane Lane », « Nyad », « Saltburn », « Barbie » et « Poor Things ».
Sur les 10 films qui ont été retenus dans la catégorie des meilleurs maquillages et coiffures des Oscars, quatre – « Golda », « Maestro », « Oppenheimer » et « Poor Things » – ont également été nominés pour des MUAHS Awards. Six films ont été sélectionnés pour les Oscars mais n’ont pas été choisis par la guilde : « Beau Is Afraid, Ferrari, Killers of the Flower Moon, The Last Voyage of the Demeter, Napoleon et Society of the Snow.
L’année dernière, quatre des cinq nominés aux Oscars ont été désignés pour la première fois par la MUAHS, ce qui représente un niveau de concordance typique entre les deux prix. (Mais l’Académie et la guilde ne sont pas d’accord sur l’orthographe : La catégorie des Oscars fait référence aux métiers d’art en tant que maquillage et coiffuretandis que la guilde les coiffe comme maquillage et coiffure.)
Dans les catégories télévision, « Dancing With the Stars » a reçu cinq nominations, « The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel » et « Saturday Night Live » en ont obtenu trois et « The Bear », « The Idol », « The Last of Us », « Ahsoka », « The Crown », « Lessons in Chemistry », « American Idol », « Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards » et « The Voice » en ont reçu deux chacun.
Les MUAHS Awards ont déjà annoncé trois récipiendaires de prix honorifiques : Les maquilleurs Michael Westmore et Kevin Haney recevront respectivement le Vanguard Award et le Lifetime Achievement Award, tandis que le coiffeur Ora T. Green recevra également le Lifetime Achievement Award.
La cérémonie aura lieu le samedi 18 février.
